What do the condition grades mean?

Two separate ratings. Cosmetic condition (A, B, C) describes how the casing and screen look. Battery condition describes how much capacity the battery still holds. They are graded independently — a machine with almost no signs of use (A) can have a Fair battery, and one with light signs of use (B) can have an Excellent one.

Cosmetic Condition

Almost no signs of use (A): Very light, minor scuffs or scratches on outer casing. Clean; no pressure marks, deep scratches, or dead pixels.
Light signs of use (B): Normal signs of wear. Light scratches, minor scuffs, or tiny dents on casing. Minor keyboard marks or light surface scratches (not visible when screen is turned on).
Visible signs of use (C): Visible signs of use. Deeper scratches, scuffs, or dents on the casing. Fully functional; may show light scratches or blemishes.

Battery Condition

New 100%: Brand-new battery installed during refurbishment.
Excellent > 90%: Near-new battery performance.
Good > 80%: Standard expected refurbished battery performance.
Fair > 60%: Moderate degradation; suitable for plugged-in or light mobile use.
Poor ≤ 60%: High degradation. (Note: Completely dead batteries are not sold).
